Hello and welcome to my website!Â
I'm a freelance science communicator based between Geneva and Paris, specializing in the planning of scientific events and the production of science outreach videos. Don't hesitate to reach out to me at contact[at]gdurey.me 🙂
Until recently, I was a science educator at CERN, the European particle physics laboratory. There, I managed the digital education programme of Science Gateway, CERN's new science centre, producing an online interactive physics course on social media, and organizing international student camps on campus. Before that, I was an experimental physicist in soft matter and fluid dynamics, an interdisciplinary field at the crossroads of physics, chemistry, biology and engineering. I conducted postdoctoral research at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, earned a Ph.D. in physics from Paris Sciences et Lettres University, and a "diplôme d'ingénieur" from ESPCI Paris. Throughout my career, I've always had a passion for creative science outreach. I founded The Lutetium Project, a YouTube channel showcasing experimental soft matter physics with an artistic twist. It gathered close to a million views and 25 000 subscribers, and two of its videos were prized by the American Physical Society. Find out more about my outreach work here!
